There was a tablet on the wall stating that the obelisk was restored in the late 1800s (I forget the exact date) and new windows were fitted. That would explain why the windows are now circular but in 18th century prints they are depicted with arrowslits. It was a very memorable exploration!

Hello John. Yes I’ve visited Blickling and seen the garden buildings there. The walk to the pyramid is great, but I’ve never been lucky with the weather. Hopefully next time!
