Hello Garance. I was very lucky to see The Museum when the bluebells were out and to be able to add the photo’s to Michael’s history of the building. Sadly, as you say, such restoration projects are expensive, but you are right to be optimistic that one day the interior might be restored.

The Landmark Trust repaired/replaced the ornate plaster ceiling in Cobham Dairy which was in much the same parlous state. It is now a stunning retreat for up to two people and looking up to the ceiling can waste hours of ones life – but how fortunate we are that crafts skills still exist to bring back such joy for us to appreciate. Time and money is of course the dilemma, maybe one day…
