The building had been repaired with substantial sections of stonework replaced, but it sat in a scruffy piece of grassland with no sign of the gardens shown in these pictures. When we visited shell artist Linda Fenwick afterwards I noticed a photo of the museum on her wall. I asked her about it and she said she had been asked to decorate the interior with shells. I don’t know if that has happened.
