Hello Nic and thanks for your comments. There is a digitised edition of the book online, and some of his other texts can be found too. He was certainly prolific, writing countless articles as well as the books. It was interesting finding out more about Harper, although as you might have guessed I didn’t exactly warm to him.

I was surprised too by the number of his books still available.

If I understand it correctly, he’d seemingly not realised either that a folly was but a name for a hill.

Still, I like his illustrations.
